The TFD Initiative is a non-profit organisation working to make trade finance more accessible to businesses of all sizes. It brings stakeholders from across the trade finance industry, including banks, investors, and technology providers, to collaborate on initiatives promoting innovation and transparency.

In a statement, Sarah Murrow, CEO of Allianz Trade UK & Ireland, said: “We are pleased to partner with the TFD Initiative and deepen our relationships with the trade finance community. We believe that trade credit insurance is important to closing the trade finance gap and giving thousands of companies – from SMEs to large corporations – peace of mind as they conduct business across country borders.”

André Casterman, CEO of the TFD Initiative, welcomed Allianz Trade to the community, saying: “The TFD Initiative community aims to scale the distribution space to close the trade finance gap. Credit insurers such as Allianz Trade are essential on this journey.

“We will demonstrate this during the Trade Finance Investor Day, where various lenders will show how they partner with institutional investors and credit insurers to extend more liquidity to corporates and SMEs. I am delighted to welcome Allianz Trade as a sponsor of this inaugural edition of the Investor Day.”

The TFD Initiative’s flagship event, the Trade Finance Investor Day, will be held in the UK from 19-20 October 2023. The event will bring together the TFDi community and wider investors to discuss the latest trends and developments in the trade finance market.

The TFD Initiative and Allianz Trade are committed to working together to make trade finance more accessible to businesses of all sizes. By doing so, they can help promote economic growth and development worldwide.
