With over 50 years of experience in the general insurance industry, PB Curran has established strong relationships with insurers and clients across the UK. Founded by Patrick Curran in 1961, the company has expanded through strategic acquisitions and currently employs nearly 40 people across its headquarters in York and two additional offices in Middlesbrough and Ossett.

Upon completion of the acquisition, PB Curran will join Ethos Broking, further strengthening Ethos’ presence in Yorkshire and the Northeast of England alongside Ethos brokers Schofield, Lockyer, and BSIS.

Edward Curran, director of PB Curran, will continue to lead the business in its day-to-day operations, collaborating with Richard Tuplin, CEO of Advisory Insurance Brokers Limited (AIBL) and Alan Sumner, regional managing director of Ethos Broking.

Richard Tuplin expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, emphasising PB Curran’s extensive expertise, “diverse specialisations”, and access to competitive insurance products that will enhance Ethos’ existing proposition.

Edward Curran highlighted the importance of finding the right partner aligned with PB Curran’s values and praised Ethos for “putting its clients and staff at the centre of its business.”

Phil Bayles, chief commercial officer of Ardonagh Advisory, welcomed PB Curran to the Advisory team, emphasising the company’s commitment to collaborating with businesses that “share their ambitions and ways of working.”

Ardonagh Advisory is excited about the acquisition and aims to bring on board more businesses like PB Curran that can provide unique offerings or enhance its existing services. The company looks forward to exploring growth opportunities and expanding its footprint in partnership with Ethos and the broader Ardonagh Advisory platform.
