MetLife and Microsoft partner to develop comprehensive pet care app

The app, built on Microsoft Azure, offers various functionalities to promote pet health and happiness. Users can securely view insurance policies, chat with customer service representatives, update pet profiles, and track insurance claims. Additionally, the app provides 24/7 access to licensed veterinarians through live chat, eliminating the need for scheduling appointments.

Pet owners can conveniently upload and access their pets’ health records, set vaccination reminders, and receive notifications about claims status. The app also utilises artificial intelligence to recommend articles tailored to the specific needs of pets based on their species, age, and breed.

Moreover, intelligent search capabilities allow users to locate nearby pet services, including grooming and training providers.

The collaboration between MetLife and Microsoft resulted in the development of the MetLife Pet Insurance app. Microsoft’s design and engineering capabilities and Cloud and Azure AI services were leveraged to align the app with MetLife’s mission of supporting pet parents in their caregiving journey.

Pawan Verma, EVP and CIO of MetLife, emphasises the importance of incorporating technology into pet care solutions to provide readily available resources and solutions for pet owners.
