UK-Based InsurTech startup YuLife launches wellbeing pilot program in Japan

Japanese markets

The pilot program will see YuLife’s wellbeing app and online hub available to a select group of internal and external test users in Japan for approximately six months.

YuLife’s wellbeing app is designed to enhance the wellbeing of corporate employees through a variety of features, including gamification elements such as leaderboards, challenges, quests, and duels. Employees can earn “YuCoin”, YuLife’s in-app wellbeing currency, by completing various wellness activities, such as walking, cycling, meditation, and mindfulness. YuCoin can be redeemed for various vouchers or used for CSR activities, such as donating to nature conservation projects.

The pilot program in Japan aims to assess the effectiveness of YuLife’s wellbeing app in improving the wellbeing of Japanese employees. Dai-ichi Life also hopes to harness YuLife’s strengths to pioneer innovative life insurance products and services in the Japanese market.

Why Japan?

YuLife believes its wellbeing app is well-suited for the Japanese market due to its simplicity, user-friendly interface, and “kawaii” aesthetic. The app also contains various fun gamification features, which are popular among Japanese users.
